Hello and please visit me at www.jimcarrellphotography.com. Pictured is a 1912 Indian Head Two and a Half Dollar gold coin. These are incuse coins meaning that every thing you see on the coin is pressed below the surface. These coins are one of the most popular among coin collectors.
Hello and thank you for visiting my website. I started photography in high school and continued my studies through college. I was fortunate enough to have a career in medical imaging and photography. I now do mostly sports photography, but also enjoy taking photos of classic cars, vintage U.S. coins and the California coast. Classic cars and vintage U.S. coins show off the amazing beauty of our past. They are truly a wonderful part of our history and should not be forgotten! All coins pictured come from my personal collection. Both the coins and cars require technical work and that makes the work even more rewarding! Thank you and have a great day.

Whar a beautiful coin. I am not familiar with this coin. Welcome to the Currency Group.
Jim Carrell replied:
Charles, The two and a half and five dollar Indian gold coins mintage started in 1908. They were incuse meaning that everything you see on the coin is pressed down beneath the surface of the coin. Many consider this series of coins the most beautiful in U.S. coinage.
